These spoons are hand made from sustainably harvested beech wood from a fallen tree in Liverpool. The wood is spalted, which means that it had been aged to allow fungus to start to grow in the wood. Where two fungal colonies meet, they form intricate black lines.
The edges are beveled to be comfortable in the hand. The rim of the bowl is thin but strong to ensure it withstands many years in the kitchen, and the bowl is big enough to be a dual cooking and serving spoon. Each spoon is approximately 27-29 cm long and the bowl is 5-6 cm wide.
Please see the product care page for information on how to care for your woodenware.
